The table below applies to the English Language papers during the mid-year examination this coming May.

Format for English Language Papers

For Paper 2, Section B, the theme is on 'Save the Environment'.
Comprehension passage will be taken from a story from Cricket (February 2008 issue).

* The time allocation (see column on the extreme right) is just a guideline to help you manage your time during the examination.

Reminders
1) For Paper 1, please CHECK AND EDIT YOUR WORK. Whether or not you pass in your writing depends very much on your grammar. So, please make sure there are no grammatical and spelling errors in your writing.

2) For Paper 2, please answer all comprehension questions and the summary question in COMPLETE SENTENCES. Use quotation marks when the question asks you to quote an expression from the passage.

3) If you cannot remember anything else, just remember to FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN IN THE EXAMINATION PAPERS. So, please read the instructions very carefully.

Study hard, rest well and be ready for all your papers.

Save Our Environment

Hi, people. My apologies for posting this up a little later than usual.

Task
Referring to the story My Corner by Jennifer Szostak (February issue of Cricket), share what you can do to help keep our environment clean and green. You are to post between 80 and 100 words.

To get 1 mark, you must post before the deadline.
It is zilch for any posts after the deadline - unless you have informed me in person and I have agreed to allow you to extend the deadline.

Willima's body was found floating in the water on the far side of the weir. It was presumed that he had fallen in, though it was not clear how he managed to be so far from the house. The other mystery was his clothes. All the costumes used for the living history project had been specially made by a local firm from modern fabric. But at the inquest an expert witness from a costume museum swore that William's clothes were about a hundred and seventy years old.

Imagine this: You wake up in the middle of the night and realise that your house is on fire. Which three items in your room will you grab with you before you escape from the fire? Why do you choose these three items?
